    • The e-mail correspondence related to Margolskee family research.

      Hi Carlton,

While browsing your tree I found a conflation of two of the women named "Sarah Margolskee."

Sarah Solomon Margolskee (wife of Israel Maurice Margolskee) is the one who died on 4 Feb 1979 in Massachusetts.

Sura Ruchla Bornstein Margulska (wife of Judka Margulski) died in Przasnysz, Poland in 1886.
She is indexed under the name "Sura Ruchla Marulska" on JRI-Poland with no additional information, so I had the original record translated.

The third one, Sarah Blumberg Margolskee (my great-grandmother) is correct.

I have also found the two "mystery children" of Hyman Margolskee and Rebecca Gelbart Margolskee (listed as deceased by 1910).
They were a pair of twins born in Przasnysz, Poland in 1883, named Zalman HIrsh and Zysia Liba.
The index on JRI-Poland shows only their names, indexed under "Margulski", so I had the original birth records translated.
The 1900 census for this family, indexed on FamilySearch under Hyman "Margalku," indicates the twins died before 1900.

I have been digging into some of these old details with the hope of having an interesting story to tell at the Passover seder. Best Regards, Jeanne
    • The spelling is from Judka's Polish marriage record. I seem to recall that on Louis' marriage record, he anglecized Judka to Julius. Judka's Hebrew name was Yehuda. The spelling Sura Ruchla is also from the Polish marriage record.
