    • Jacob Davidson was born in Russia Came to the US on forged papers. Took wifes name of Rapaport. Jacob was a land manager for a Baron in Russia. He first went to St. Johns in Canada, and then toNew York. While in NY he met a man who talked him into going to Ft Kent, ME. There he opend a saw mill, slaughter house and grocery store.
      There is a sterling somewhere in the family that was given to Jacob by the Baron in Russia.
      Jacob was a twin.
      Family came from a town called SUSKIVICH. The name ETSCOVITZ was derived from the town name. Etscovitz is a made up name.

      Etscovitz is also the name chosen for some of the clan. While some took the Etscovitz name some changed theirs back to the original name of Rapaport.
