      Birth: unknown, Lithuania
      Death: Oct., 1895, Lithuania
Zorukh GRIZ was born c. 1810. A family biography identifies him as postmaster in Kamajai, Lithuania and as father of Reuben, Mikhel, Eadell, Meir and Rachel Malka.
A search for these names in Kamajai, Zorukh, Ruvel and Mikhel, resulted in the following data:
1845 Census in Kamajai: KHAYMON, Zorukh b. Izrael, 33, a tanner, Ruvel 7, Mikhel 2, and Feyga 33. (Possible same family???)
1848 Tax list has same Zorukh KHAYMON, age 30, from village of Kondreny. Kandrenai is 81.7 mil north of Vilnius and just 9.7 miles east of Kamajai.
I believe this is same family, since given names are both familial and age appropriate. Previously unknown name of wife, Feiga, who died c. 1869, was likely namesake of Rachel Malka's first born daughter, Basha Feiga. KHAYMON may have been the surname of one of Zorach's parents. It is also conceivable that Zorach took on the GRIZ surname when he married Pessa after the death of his first wife.
Siblings Meir and Rachel Malka both emigrated to United States. Subsequent research leads to belief that their three brothers were known by surname of ROM, possibly the surname of their mother. Reuben's son, Henry ROME is known by granddaughter of Meir Greece to be first cousin to Meir's daughter, Jenny GREECE.
