CYNTHIA A. WESTCOTT, 99, of Dale Street, Peabody, Mass., formerly of Seekonk, a retired bookkeeper, died Tuesday at Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Danvers, Mass.
She was the wife of the late Ellis R. Westcott. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late William and Bessie (Harrington) Barlow, she had lived in Seekonk most of her life before moving to Peabody several years ago.
Mrs. Barlow had been a bookkeeper at the Pawtucket Mutual Life Insurance Co., in Pawtucket, for 5 years, and later worked in the tax assessor's office in Seekonk for 25 years before retiring.
She was a member of the Retired Municipal Employees of Massachusetts, and a graduate of Pawtucket High School.
Mrs. Westcott was a descendant of Roger Williams and Richard Waterman, and a member of the Roger Williams Society.
She was active in the Red Cross during World War II.
She was a member of Hope Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Attleboro.
Mrs. Westcott was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of OPAL, and the Eliza Snow Missionary Society.
She leaves a daughter, Anne Milender of Peabody; a son, Ellis R. Westcott Jr. of Hernando, Fla.; and 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John E., Harrington R., James B. and William Barlow, Mary E. Pope, Ellen M. Bliss and Clara B. Fine.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Memorial Baptist Church, 340 Central Ave. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Rumford.
